Concept
This is the original concept I sketched up before starting anything 3D. I wanted to get the general vibe, character design, and posing down before jumping in. Clearly, a few things changed during sculpting, such as the skates and the wall. Other things were excluded, such as her tattoo. This was mostly due to how I laid out her UVs, which had her arm islands stacked on top of each other.

What Went WRONG:

Lack of resources (substance, marvelous)

Made the mistake of attaching eyes to head while skinning
-
Lack of solid foundations in skin texturing

lack of knowledge for hair in XGen
-
Rigging. Some of her bones, especially in the fingers, are too long or don't match up evenly. This made skinning wonky.
For next time:
-
Spend more time on texturing

Improved topology for deformation with rig/skin

Improved hair
-
Keep eyes separate!!!

SEAMS! Hopefully next time they will be hidden much better
